George Bush was honestly a pretty decent president (better than Obama is). But he had one fauly, he had Cheney as a Vice President and His Weak willed mind. If things could have been different, Bush could have taken our country to the next level of awesomeness.
In short, singularity is the point in Human history where the time technology takes to advance becomes so close to 0, it might as well be considered it. It is completely impossible to even contemplate what will happen after that point in time occurs. Ray Kurzwiel predicts that Singularity will occur around 2045, and so far he has been right about a lot of other things. Although, I will not discuss when Singularity will occur, I like to imagine I can contemplate what will occur after that point.
What is the greatest achievement that man at any point in history can attain? I would honestly say that it is becoming a god. You could do what ever you wanted to: go back in time, create light from darkness, create whole universes, immortality, but more importantly create life. I feel that when Singularity occurs, we will figure out a way to leave our physical bodies, and become part of space-time itself. God gave man free will, and I believe that we need to use this free will so that one day God can call us equals. Why would God want a bunch of brainless zombies to bow down to him. I mean isn’t it so much more pleasing to call someone your equal than your subordinate or slave?
But going back to the possibility of Singularity transcending man from his physical body into space-time, here is the really fun part. Now, please stay along with me as I get a little Science-Fictiony here. It would seem that we would achieve singularity before we do any serious space travel (as it is easier to develop faster stronger computers when compared to building faster stronger spaceships). So chances are man will be able to leave out planet and Solar System long before any spaceships are built to do so. Could not we assume the same exact scenario has occurred to another intelligent life within the Universe? The universe billions of years old it is very quite possible. What if, what we call God is actually an intelligent being that has simply transcended its physical body into space-time and is looking over mankind so that it can one day call us its equals? I do not want to sound crazy, but whenever something man has not understood in his history he has looked towards religion/the gods, yet science has some how explained it.
Maybe Scientologists are on to something.
One day, I will die. Every one does, and every one has. 100 billion humans have passed before me, billions greater than me, billions lesser; yet they have all done it. More importantly, they have all done it in an imperfect world. I would say that this is the greatest realization of my life, because really my life means nothing now. I have embraced death and have at times questioned whether or not living the rest of my some 80 odd years left is really worth the wait of getting to my next destination. It is funny, because now whenever something dangerous happens or something that makes my blood “rush,” I tell myself “Make my choice in life easy” (the choice of living or not).
Although, there has been one thing that has kept me from succumbing to drugs, living in a fantasy world of not caring, and/or embracing the emptiness. It is not that I see this life as a chance for my soul to “grow.” Nor do I believe I will go to Hell for ending myself. It is the insatiable urge to leave the world a better place for my children. Your children. My neighbors’ children. The children of the world.
I say that, because we live in an imperfect world. We will most likely die in an imperfect world. But, we have so many opportunities to truly sacrifice ourselves, so that our children have the opportunity to live in a perfect world. A world, which everyone is truly happy. A world, where everyone cares for each other. A world that is truly united.
I do not know how physically possible it is to make the world perfect by the time I die. At the same time, that is why I picked that to be my goal in life. A goal that is truly unattainable in my life time so I never stop advancing towards it until God takes me away from this Universe. I would do anything, sacrifice this entire world, to ensure that if there was an “Adam and Eve” that would start again tomorrow, that they would start in a new perfect world.
